Do you know anyone who is looking for a new career and interested in technology? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for them. Code for Progress is now recruiting for its 2015 coding program. The year-long fellowship starts with a three to five month residency in the District of Columbia. All Code for Progress fellows receive a monthly stipend and housing allowance. Code for Progress also helps fellows find jobs in the tech sector as junior developers, database managers, and innovation specialists.
Connect.DC is partnering with Code for Progress to sponsor 3 fellows in this year's cohort. Connect.DC-sponsored fellows must be DC residents (at least 18 years old) from Wards 5,7, or 8. Preference will be given to applicants that live in Connect.DC’s "digital footprints” (Ward 7: Benning Ridge, Marshall Heights; Ward 8: Anacostia, Hillsdale, and Barry Farm). Ideal candidates are individuals from underrepresented groups (low-income, women, minorities, returning citizens, LGBTQ, etc.) who are interested in coding and addressing problems in their community using technology.
The fellowship begins in June 2015. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2015.
